Burr Pre-K Enrollment Surges for 2008-2009

We are excited to announce that interest in pre-kindergarten classes at Burr has been very strong. Early registration for the upcoming year has already reached 80 students. Our incoming pre-kindergarten class promises to be a group that reflects the diversity of our neighborhood and our city.

Because of the surge in enrollment, we will be opening an additional pre-k classroom at the start of the 2008 - 2009 school year.   Families who have not yet registered are still encouraged to visit the school to learn what we can offer for their children. Parents interested in enrolling their children pre-k classes at Bucktown's small neighborhood school can ask for their children to be placed on a waiting list.

Congratulations Ms. Mahoney and Ms. Clark!

We are happy to announce that both Ms. Mahoney and Ms. Clark have recently been awarded grants from the Chicago Foundation for Education. 

Ms. Mahoney plans to purchase new listening center materials for the Library, including both audio equipment as well as books on tape and cd.

Ms. Clark will be purchasing materials to set up a Japanese drama center in her classroom.   At this center you will find items such as Japanese play food, a Japanese dining table, and Japanese clothing.
